About the Gateway
As
a starting point for legal research, the Legal Information Gateway
links to legal resources of most interest to those looking to represent themselves in an Indiana court, or pro se parties.
The Gateway was developed by librarians from the Indianapolis
Public Library, Indiana State Library, Indiana Supreme Court
Library, and Ruth Lilly Law Library of the Robert H. McKinney School
of Law. The goal of the Gateway is to inform
librarians and members of the public about sources of legal services and
to provide general guidelines for legal reference service.
The Gateway was funded by a grant from the Library Fund. Administered by The Indianapolis Foundation, the Library Fund was established in 1989 to assist the development of eligible high school, public and academic libraries in Marion County. Advised by representatives from those libraries, the Foundation has provided nearly $10 million to develop collections, update technology, and improve access for all Marion County residents to quality information services.
